During the Fast

During the fast your body will no longer receive caffeine, chemicals, sugars, or processed foods. These items have an effect on the body that can mimic or is an addiction. Like sugar, there have been many, many studies that show how addictive sugar can be. And because of this, your body may experience detoxing symptoms: headaches, nausea, fatigue, and cramping. This is why I strongly suggested, in Prepping for the Fast, to start tapering off these items a couple of weeks before starting the fast.

Detoxing

When the body is detoxing, it is cleaning the organs and blood of toxins by:

  1. Resting the organs;
  2. Helping the liver drive toxins from the body;
  3. Elimination through the intestines, kidneys, and skin;
  4. Improving circulation of the blood; and
  5. Refueling the body with healthy nutrients.

Detoxing through fasting can help with…

  • Fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Bloating
  • Menstrual problems
  • Mental confusion

 

 

This is a good time to try new fruits and vegetables. Many times we limit ourselves to the same fruits and vegetables because it is what we know and what we are comfortable with. But there are so many beautiful, tasty, and interesting foods out there just waiting to be discovered by you!
